Job Description

We need a talented Aerospace Systems Engineer to join our team at Aerodyne Industries.

The successful candidate will develop and evaluate Rarefied Gas Dynamics (RGD) software tools, applying knowledge of Message Passing Interface (MPI) coding standards. Utilizing Fortran and C/C++ skills, they will model and analyze RGD, enhancing and utilizing NASA's Direct Simulation Monte Carlo (DSMC) Analysis Code (DAC).

This role requires:

  • Developing parallel processing applications in Fortran or C
  • Running parallel simulations using High Performance Computers
  • Expertise in CFD methods and techniques for fully viscous flows
  • Iterative computational mesh (grid) development and refinement based on flow field solution quality
  • Developing engineering level models based on CFD and flight or wind-tunnel data
  • Aerodynamic and/or aerothermodynamic engineering methods/techniques/models
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment consisting of NASA civil servants and various contractor employees.
Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • A bachelor's degree in Engineering and a minimum of 1 year of experience in the field or in a related area
  • BS degree in engineering from an accredited engineering school and five (5) years of direct engineering experience, or an MS degree from an accredited engineering school and four (4) years of direct engineering experience, or a Ph.D.
  • Minor or more in Computer Science
