Postdoctoral Research Fellow

We are seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Fellow to join our team at the Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine. As a key member of our research team, you will be responsible for initiating and carrying out research projects in collaboration with our experts.
Key Responsibilities- Design, conduct, and supervise high-throughput machine learning processes with a focus on geostatistics, including geographically weighted regression, spatial modeling, and mathematical models.
- Foster new collaborations with DoD, academic institutions, mosquito control districts, local and corporate business companies, and research entities to support laboratory missions and force health protection.
- Mainstream work efforts and resources with other departments at USUHS to promote a competitive work environment.
- Develop and establish ecological indicators of arthropod vectors and their associated diseases.
- Prepare drafts of grant proposals for funding by reputable governmental and non-governmental agencies.
- Prepare drafts of reports, presentations, and scientific papers for publication.
- Demonstrate published projects on public health products such as papers, platforms, software, and codes.
- Verbal and written communication skills for preparing data reports and presentations.
- Ability to work independently at times and/or without direct supervision.
- Doctoral degree.
- Minimum of a Ph.D. degree in related fields (bioinformatics, entomology, evolutionary biology, parasitology, public health, animal science) from an accredited university.
- Previous work experience in distribution models, biostatistics, and arthropod-borne diseases.
- Minimum of 5 years' total experience in ecological and biodiversity studies.
- Minimum of 0-5 years postdoctoral degree experience required.
