About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at the Ohio Department of Commerce. As a key member of our healthcare staff, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to ensure the well-being of our patients.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is $56,000 per year, based on shift assignments. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits, including:

Job Responsibilities

Your primary responsibilities as a Licensed Practical Nurse will include:

  • Providing patient care as directed
  • Documenting patient-related care timely within the electronic health record
  • Maintaining patient medical records
  • Administering medication, including oral and intramuscular medications, and performing venipuncture to obtain blood samples for laboratory analysis
  • Collecting urine and/or other body fluid specimens
  • Preparing patients for release and/or transfer by reviewing patient care and completing necessary documents
  • Ensuring discharge medication orders are completed and forwarded to pharmacy services in a timely manner
  • Participating in work-related training and all institution training exercises as assigned
  • Providing assistance to other healthcare staff and observing, documenting, and providing nursing support to assistive personnel
  • Providing patient education regarding healthcare maintenance and prevention of disease
  • Participating in continuous quality improvement activities and performing administrative duties as needed
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have a license to practice nursing as a licensed practical nurse issued by the Ohio Board of Nursing pursuant to Section 4723 Ohio Revised Code, and an MDS certification issued by ANNAC.
