Job Title: Laundry Worker

Department of State Hospitals is seeking a skilled Laundry Worker to join our team. As a Laundry Worker, you will play a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of our facilities.

Job Summary:

The Laundry Worker will be responsible for inspecting clothing and linen for cleanliness, sorting and distributing wearing apparel, and cleaning equipment and work areas. This is a full-time, permanent position that requires excellent communication skills, dependability, and excellent attendance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect clothing and linen for cleanliness and sort accordingly
  • Distribute wearing apparel to designated areas
  • Clean equipment and work areas to maintain a safe and healthy environment
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve team goals
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Good people skills and excellent communication skills
  • Dependability and excellent attendance
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
  • Understanding of and willingness to work with the patient/resident population of a State institution
Working Conditions:

This position requires working in a fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines. You will be required to stand for prolonged periods of time and lift heavy equipment. A high level of personal cleanliness and freedom from communicable diseases is essential.

Special Requirements:

Sufficient strength and agility to load, unload, and operate industrial capacity laundry machines.
