Memaloose Rest Area Maintenance Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Rest Area Technician to join our team at the Memaloose Rest Area, located on I-84 near Mosier, OR. As a Rest Area Technician, you will be responsible for performing groundskeeping, maintenance, and security tasks to ensure the cleanliness and safety of the rest area facilities.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform routine maintenance and repairs to buildings, facilities, and grounds, including plumbing, carpentry, and painting.
- Conduct daily inspections to identify and address any issues or concerns.
- Provide excellent customer service to visitors, responding to inquiries and resolving any issues in a professional and courteous manner.
- Work effectively in a team environment, collaborating with colleagues to achieve shared goals and objectives.
- Develop and maintain a positive and respectful work environment, promoting a culture of safety, inclusivity, and respect.
- At least six months of experience in facility maintenance, construction trades, landscaping, or similar work.
- Six months of experience in customer service, providing information and assistance to the public.
- Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends, holidays, and evenings, as needed.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, stoop, and climb stairs and ladders.
- Working knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical, masonry, asphalting, painting, and other construction skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups and individuals.
- Ability to read, understand, and apply specifications found in manuals, guidelines, and plans.
- Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Works in a fast-paced environment, interacting frequently with the public and agency officials.
- May be exposed to environmental and chemical hazards, allergens, and odors.
- May be required to work in extreme weather conditions, including heat, cold, and precipitation.
- May be required to lift, carry, and move heavy objects, including equipment and supplies.
