Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Office Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to senior executives and managing the day-to-day operations of the office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-level administrative support to senior executives, including preparing correspondence, reports, and presentations;
  • Manage the office's daily operations, including supervising subordinate clerical positions;
  • Compose correspondence and reports for executive signature, and type letters, memos, and other correspondence;
  • Maintain appointment calendars, schedule meetings, and notify participants;
  • Answer telephone calls and questions, and provide information on procedures and policies;
  • Prepare and distribute employee newsletters, monitor travel requests, and provide backup support for absent clerical staff;
  • Evaluate and maintain filing systems, ensuring proper documentation and records management;

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field, and 2 years of experience in a general staff support position; or
  • An associate's degree in secretarial science, office management, or a related field, and 4 years of experience as a secretary, administrative assistant, or office manager; or
  • A high school diploma or GED, and certified administrative professional or certified professional secretary, and 5 years of experience as a secretary, administrative assistant, or office manager;

Salary and Benefits:

The estimated salary for this position is $65,000 per year, based on industry standards and location. As an employee of the City of Dayton, you will enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as paid time off and retirement savings options.

Licenses and Certifications:

A valid driver's license is required for this position, and must be maintained throughout employment. A background investigation and evidence of employment authorization and identity are also required prior to employment.
