About the Job

Supplemental Health Care is seeking an experienced Family Medicine Nurse Practitioner to join their team for a locum tenens opportunity in Clarkstown, New York.

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled and dedicated Nurse Practitioner to provide high-quality patient care in a correctional facility setting. The successful candidate will have the ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide primary and specialty care to patients in a correctional facility setting
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans for patients
  • Conduct medical assessments, diagnose conditions, and prescribe treatments as needed
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
  • Participate in education and training programs to stay current on best practices and industry developments

Requirements

  • Degree in Nursing Practice (NP) or related field
  • Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in New York
  • BLS certification
  • DEA certification
  • 1 year of recent relevant experience
  • Board Certified/ Board Eligible
  • Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and facility personnel
  • Corrections experience preferred

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated weekly payment for this opportunity is $3,580 - $3,803*, which includes both taxable wages and tax-free reimbursements for meals, housing, and incidentals.
