Job Summary

Catholic Charities Serving Central Washington is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Substitute Teacher to support the care and education of young children in our preschool and infant toddler classrooms. As a Substitute Teacher, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment that promotes the social, physical, and intellectual growth of our children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create and maintain a safe and healthy environment, adhering to health standards and ensuring the well-being of children and staff.
  • Support with planning and provide curriculum through normal caregiving routines, establishing a learning environment that fosters self-esteem and positive self-concept.
  • Provide family support to parents of the children, maintaining open and friendly communication and promoting family involvement.
  • Foster positive discipline and communication in the classroom, guiding and sustaining positive interactions between children and adults.
  • Continue professional development, participating in required training and sharing information with other staff as requested.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • ECE Initial Certificate or CDA preferred
  • Preschool/Infant Toddler Classroom Experience
  • Training in Creative Curriculum
  • Basic computer skills
  • Valid food handlers card, First Aid and CPR card, and verification of a negative TB test
