We are currently seeking highly skilled and motivated individuals to join our team as Firefighter, Fleet Parts Worker, or Water & Sewer Operator.

Salary Information:

The estimated annual salary for this position is $69,251.28 - $79,051.08 (Firefighter), $52,000.00 (Fleet Parts Worker), and $31.74 hourly ($65,439.20 annually) (Water & Sewer Operator).

Job Description:

As a Firefighter, you will respond to fires, medical emergencies, hazardous materials, and other emergency situations. You will work under the supervision of a Fire Captain but have the opportunity to exercise independent judgment and initiative.

In this role, you will establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees, emergency response providers, law enforcement agencies, the news media, homeowners, businesses, community organizations, and the public.

You will be exposed to hazardous materials, heavy traffic areas, intense heat, direct exposure to flames, decimated structures, extreme weather conditions, erratic individuals, air-borne pathogens, and blood-borne pathogens in various emergency and non-emergency situations.

As a Fleet Parts Worker, you will maintain the Vehicle Maintenance parts program and coordinate the City's waste oil collection program. You will work under the supervision of the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent but have considerable leeway to exercise independent judgment and initiative.

You will establish and maintain effective working relationships with assigned supervisors, other City employees, and the general public while performing your duties in a fleet maintenance and repair shop environment.

As a Water & Sewer Operator, you will perform semi-skilled and skilled work in the construction, maintenance, and repair of City lands, facilities, and infrastructure for the water/sewer division.

You will work under the supervision of an assigned supervisor but have considerable leeway to exercise independent judgment and initiative.

You may act as a lead worker over work crews as assigned and establish and maintain effective working relationships with assigned supervisors, other City employees, and the general public while performing your duties in an outdoors environment.

Requirements and Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid driver's license required.
