Expert Staff Nurse with Leadership Opportunities

We are offering a highly competitive compensation package, including a $15,000 sign-on bonus for a 2-year work commitment for candidates with +1 year of experience.
Job Overview:
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a full-time Professional Staff Nurse in the PACU department. The successful candidate will be working Monday through Friday with variable start times between 5am to 3pm. The role comes with occasional weekend call and one holiday call per year.
About the Role:
- Leadership Development: As an Expert Staff Nurse, you will demonstrate a passion for developing others by precepting students, graduate nurses, and new hires. You will analyze clinical and behavioral situations, identifying learning opportunities to improve patient care practices.
- Patient-Centered Care: You will apply the nursing process within the framework of Relationship Based Care to create a healing environment. Formulate daily goals and a plan of care for patients that involves the patient as partner and considers the individual needs of the patient in a holistic manner.
- Clinical Expertise: Build and mends relationships among colleagues within the framework of a healthy workplace. Role model keen cultural awareness including preventing and addressing horizontal violence and impairment.
- Innovation and Quality: Identify opportunities for clinical quality as well as workplace improvement. Apply evidence-based practice as a regular aspect of professional practice.
- Team Leadership: Serve as a role model of professional nursing practice by serving as a recognized unit leader in one or more of the following areas: clinical expertise, teacher, specialized resource nurse, and/or evidence-based practice.
Requirements:
- Minimum 4 years experience.
- BSN required.
- Annual completion of a professional contribution selected from department, hospital or system goals, and approved by Unit Director.
- UPMC approved nursing certification required within 1 year of hire/transfer and must be maintained.
