Job Overview

The Mechatronics Technician role at VEGA Americas is a critical position that requires a high level of technical expertise and problem-solving skills. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of our laser marking, SMT systems, and selective soldering systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program and maintain the laser marking system, troubleshooting any malfunctions.
  • Program and maintain the Selective Soldering Machines and THT workstations.
  • Monitor the operation of SMT Machines, ensuring proper programming and maintenance.
  • Coordinate with VEGA Germany colleagues for troubleshooting, programming, and repair.
  • Provide machine operation training for new employees as needed.

Requirements:

  • Associate's degree in Mechanical, Electronic, or equivalent is preferred.
  • 3 to 6 months related experience and/or training OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in handling SMT components, PCBAs, and tools for repair/rework.
  • Experience with various hand soldering techniques is a plus.
  • 1 – 2 years of experience with Surface Mount Technology equipment is preferred.
  • Must possess good mechanical and electrical skills.
  • Reading schematics and circuit diagrams.
  • Some programming experience is preferred.
  • Willing to travel to Europe for training.
