Lead Embryologist

As a part of our dedicated team, you will play a crucial role in assisting patients with the challenges of infertility, while also fostering a supportive workplace environment that encourages professional growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute advanced techniques in embryo freezing, thawing, retrievals, embryo assessments, egg freezing, transfers, ICSI, biopsy, and cell loading.

• Operate independently to troubleshoot and resolve laboratory challenges.

• Make informed clinical decisions with minimal supervision.

• Mentor and train junior staff members in laboratory procedures.

• Collaborate with the Laboratory Director in audit preparations.

• Conduct embryology laboratory tasks as assigned.

• Maintain a high level of attention to detail, recognizing the sensitive nature of Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) treatments.

• Adhere to HIPAA privacy regulations.

• Stay proficient in the latest technologies, including trophectoderm biopsy and oocyte vitrification.

• Exhibit comprehensive knowledge of reproductive biology and demonstrate exceptional clinical skills in a team setting.

• Handle oocytes, embryos, and semen with care, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.

• Assess and grade oocyte, embryo, and sperm morphology accurately.

• Maintain meticulous patient logs and laboratory reports.

• Communicate effectively with patients, staff, and regulatory agencies.

• Support CAP inspection readiness and participate in inspections.

• Ensure clear and professional communication with all stakeholders.

• Engage in continuous technical improvement initiatives.

• Uphold technical proficiency in routine laboratory operations.

• Assist in analyzing laboratory performance data and specific research projects.

• Provide seamless patient services across various systems.

• Manage stressful situations with patients and ensure confidentiality and respect.

• Collaborate with embryology staff and the Director to address quality control issues.

• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions as needed.

• Ensure all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are current and reviewed annually by all embryologists.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or a related field (Master's in Reproductive Science preferred).
• A minimum of 4 years of experience in an IVF laboratory, with advanced skills in key embryology procedures.
• Willingness to work weekends and holidays on a rotating schedule.
• State accreditation as a Laboratory Professional, if applicable.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to foster positive relationships at all organizational levels.
• Proven ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Ability to work independently under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
