Job Summary

This position is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of complex plant equipment and facilities. The incumbent will work independently to complete jobs with minimal supervision, adhering to stringent safety and sanitation standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on equipment
  • Setting up and operating simple machining operations, including lathe, drill press, and grinder
  • Performing basic welding tasks
  • Understanding mechanical and electrical blueprints, sketches, or schematics
  • Identifying needed parts, supplies, and repair items
  • Providing support and backup for other department members
  • Assuring compliance with 6S and housekeeping standards
  • Participating in Continuous Improvement activities

The ideal candidate will possess intermediate-level proficiency in welding, plumbing, electrical repair, instrumentation, and machining operations. Additionally, they must own and maintain a basic set of hand tools.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Knowledge of carton formers, case packers, and weighing equipment
  • Knowledge of utilities such as boilers and air compressors
  • Background in wastewater treatment

Requirements

  • Ability to creatively apply experience and common sense to various situations
  • Ability to make technical decisions and support staff on technical issues
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Ability to plan work, order parts, and coordinate downtime

Working Conditions

The incumbent will work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and noise levels. They must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
