Job Description

The Rockridge Group is seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst to join our team. As a Financial Analyst, you will be responsible for performing a variety of financial tasks, including balancing and maintaining accurate general ledgers, preparing monthly financial statements, and preparing payroll and payroll tax returns.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Payroll and Payroll Tax Returns: Prepare payroll and payroll tax returns, including W-2s and 1099s.
  • General Ledger Maintenance: Balance and maintain accurate general ledgers using QuickBooks.
  • Reconciliation: Reconcile cash and other subsidiary accounts on a monthly basis.
  • Accounts Payable: Prepare and process accounts payable.
  • Sales and Use Tax Returns: Prepare and process sales and use tax returns.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Financial Knowledge: Understand entity types, accrual vs. cash, and financial reporting requirements.
  • Industry Knowledge: Have knowledge of various industries, including retail, service, and construction.
  • Software Proficiency: Be proficient in QuickBooks, Excel, and Word.
  • Payroll Knowledge: Understand payroll processing, including annual returns and types of compensation.
  • Tax Knowledge: Understand sales tax, including prepayment and quarterly returns, and taxable sales and district rules.
  • Fixed Assets: Understand fixed assets, including depreciation.
  • Loans: Understand loans, including short-term and long-term loans and amortization.
  • Budgeting: Understand budgeting, including development and analytical variances.
  • Financial Reporting: Understand financial reporting, including basic financial reports.
  • Soft Skills: Be organized, able to understand detail up to big picture, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
