Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team at the Ponca Tribe of Nebraska. As a key member of our dental team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our dental professionals in delivering high-quality services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist dentists in providing patient care, including chair-side assistance and preparation of dental instruments.
  • Anticipate and meet the needs of patients, ensuring a positive and comfortable experience.
  • Record and maintain accurate patient information, including medical history and treatment plans.
  • Participate in infection control and sterilization procedures to maintain a safe and clean environment.
  • Collaborate with dental hygienists and other team members to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Perform receptionist duties, including scheduling appointments and answering phone calls.
  • Take radiographic images and operate dental X-ray equipment.
  • Assist with coronal polishing and other clinical procedures.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and colleagues.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; dental assisting certificate or degree preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a dental setting, with a focus on chair-side assistance and patient care.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of dental assisting procedures, including infection control and sterilization.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn dental software.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel (if required).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Dental Assistant Certificate from an accredited college or program.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel (if required).
  • Experience working with Native American communities or organizations.
  • Knowledge of Dentrix office management software and Dexis imaging software.
