Job Description

As a Program Support Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting the OHS Regional Office in managing Head Start and Early Head Start grant programs. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Analyzing funding applications and reviewing recipient program performance reports, incident reports, and complaints.
  • Providing accurate and timely regulatory and policy guidance to Head Start recipients.
  • Coordinating with Regional Management staff, TTA staff, and Grants Specialists on all recipient case work.
  • Reviewing waiver requests and analyzing applications for facility construction, purchase, and major renovation.

You will also be responsible for participating in regional meetings and conferences, completing required HHS and BCT trainings, and conducting monthly calls with recipients and Regional Grants Specialists.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in education, early childhood education, program design, and management, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in program management, preferably in early education programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and present data from multiple sources.
  • Knowledge of federal grant guidelines and the Federal Grant Life Cycle.
  • Strong organizational, administrative, and project coordination skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and build relationships with staff, clients, and remote colleagues.
