Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Imaging Technologist to join our team at Houston Methodist Hospital. As an integral part of our imaging department, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional patient care and contributing to the diagnosis and treatment of various medical conditions.

About the Role

This position involves performing a variety of routine diagnostic and vascular ultrasound procedures, including common and special exams of moderate complexity. You will provide direct assistance to physicians with all diagnostic and special procedures, ensuring that patients receive accurate and timely results.

Responsibilities
  • Imaging Procedures: Conduct routine diagnostic and vascular ultrasound procedures, utilizing high-frequency sound waves to capture images and assist physicians in diagnosing medical conditions.
  • Patient Care: Deliver exceptional patient care, promoting a positive experience and ensuring that patients feel comfortable and informed throughout the procedure.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless coordination of care and optimal outcomes.
  • Maintenance of Equipment: Regularly inspect and maintain imaging equipment, ensuring that it is in safe working order and reporting any malfunctions to management.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have a strong foundation in ultrasound technology and excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of $65,000 per year salary, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
  • A graduate degree from an accredited education program approved by the credentialing body for the required credential(s).
  • A valid certification as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or equivalent, with the ability to obtain ARRT-SON and ARRT-VS certifications within 18 months.
  • Strong knowledge of imaging principles, practices, and procedures, as well as infection control and safety protocols.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and workflows.
