About the Role

Cybersecurity Technical Analysts play a crucial part in safeguarding computer systems and networks from cyber threats. As a Cybersecurity Technical Analyst at Cypress Cyber Consulting, you will be instrumental in supporting our Cybersecurity Program by assisting with technical writing, vulnerability analysis, cyber architecture, and disaster recovery planning.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on-site at a Fortune 200 client located in Westminster, CA, and collaborate with project managers and subject matter experts to provide status updates and create reports on project topics. You will also develop and monitor best practices on security controls, including zero trust, incident response, pen testing, and other offensive and defensive security concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Develop test use cases and unique stress test plans to ensure the integrity of our clients' systems.
  • Create disaster recovery and business continuity documentation to mitigate potential risks.
  • Write technical documentation on assets and security controls to facilitate efficient decision-making.
  • Provide regular status updates to project managers and SMEs to ensure seamless collaboration.
  • Prepare reports on project topics to inform stakeholders and drive informed decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain best practices on security controls to ensure our clients' systems remain secure.
  • Apply concepts related to zero trust, incident response, pen testing, and other offensive and defensive security measures to enhance our clients' cybersecurity posture.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • A minimum of 1-3 years of direct cybersecurity experience, with expertise in areas such as vulnerability analysis and disaster recovery planning.
  • US Citizenship and residency within the US are essential requirements.
  • You must pass a thorough background check before commencing your role.
  • Hold relevant certifications like Security+, CEH, or others.
  • Possess a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field, such as Computer Science or Information Assurance.
  • Extensive experience in cybersecurity is highly valued, along with the ability to work independently with minimal guidance.
  • As part of your application, you may be required to submit a writing sample on a cyber-related topic.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer an estimated salary range of $85,000 - $110,000 per annum, based on industry standards, location, and experience. This position is a 1099 contractor role, allowing for flexibility and autonomy.
