Caregiver / Advocate for Independence and Growth

Caregivers at RHA Health Services are dedicated to supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental health, and substance use needs. As a Caregiver, you will provide essential support and care to our clients, enabling them to live their best lives.
Responsibilities:
- Support and Empowerment: Assist individuals in identifying and communicating their requests and needs, implementing services and supports to address their goals and desired outcomes.
- Education and Awareness: Provide education on human, legal, and civil rights, promoting healthy living, preventing illness and accidents, and increasing awareness of self-advocacy and support individual choice and decision-making.
- Community Involvement: Accompany people to work, the movies, concerts, shopping, and other community outings, fostering positive relationships within the community.
- Living Skills: Teach independent living skills, assist with personal care and bathing, help around the home (laundry, cleaning, and decorating), and document the care provided.
- Mental Health Support: Understand diverse challenges of those living with disabilities and use effective advocacy strategies, connect people with resources to further explore opportunities in their career, education, volunteerism, etc.
Requirements:
- Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent, must be at least 18 years of age, meet all pre-employment screening requirements.
- Physical Demands: Regularly required to lift 30 lbs., must be able to lift a minimum of 40 lbs., pull minimum of 25 lbs., squat, kneel, crawl, crouch, climb, and stoop.
