About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching English classes to middle school students at either Nashville Prep or Liberty Collegiate Academy. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the academic journey of our scholars and helping them develop a love for language and literature.

Requirements
  • Qualifications/Certification:
    • All teachers must hold a Bachelor's degree upon employment.
    • Teachers in our schools must meet certification requirements by employment commencement.
  • Prior Experience:
    • Highly preferred: Previous experience teaching English, working in low-income communities, and a demonstrated ability to elevate the academic performance of underserved scholars.
    • Essential: A strong commitment to addressing historical inequities based on race and class in the American South.
  • Placement:
    • Middle School English Teachers will lead English classes at Nashville Prep or Liberty Collegiate Academy.
  • Compensation:
    • Competitive salary of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, aligned with local district and partner charter organizations, reflecting prior education experience.
