Medical Oncology Nurse Practitioner

The Registered Nurse in Oncology at Williamson Health is responsible for coordinating, implementing, and planning nursing care for patients while ensuring a compassionate environment. This role requires adherence to various certifications and competencies to deliver high-quality care in a diverse healthcare setting. Responsibilities- Perform comprehensive assessments on all patients within the appropriate time of admission utilizing skills of observation, communication, and examination; including data obtained from patient, family, and other members of the healthcare team.
- Plan the patient's care on an individual basis, identifying problems/needs, nursing diagnosis, standards of care/practice, interventions consistent with identified problems, and attainable outcomes.
- Plan for patient teaching, discharge, and post-discharge needs as appropriate for patient population.
- Function independently with treatments, procedures, and equipment appropriate to areas, evidenced by adherence to policy, procedure, and competency-based assessment, and no pattern or trend of problem.
- Handle/transports/stores/prepares/administers medications/solutions safely and in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Earned a nursing diploma or degree from a college or university.
- Licensed in the State of Tennessee.
- BLS within 90 days of hire.
- Certifications: Basic arrhythmia, ACLS, NVCI (Non-Violent Crisis Intervention) certification.
- Prior experience in oncology is preferred but not required.
This role involves working in a fast-paced oncology unit, where you will be responsible for providing direct patient care and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient care. You must be able to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
