As a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse at St. David's South Austin Medical Center, you will be part of a dedicated team providing exceptional patient care to expectant mothers. We are seeking an experienced nurse with a passion for delivering high-quality care in a dynamic environment.
About the Role
This is a unique opportunity to join our hospital's Labor and Delivery unit, where you will work closely with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients. Your primary responsibilities will include coordinating patient care, conducting initial and ongoing assessments, developing individualized care plans, and facilitating interdisciplinary discharge planning. You will also have the opportunity to provide psychological and social support to patients and their families, as well as teach them about post-delivery care and recovery.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you should have a strong foundation in nursing principles and practices, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A minimum of 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) is required, along with current licensure in the State of Texas or Compact Registration. Advanced certifications, such as ACLS or NRP, are highly valued but not necessary. A Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) is preferred but not required. An Associate's degree from an accredited nursing program will be considered.
