Job Summary

This is a supervisory position responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and evaluation of recreation programs and services within the Recreation Division of Ogden City Corporation.

The Recreation Supervisor I will supervise, assign, and review the work of staff responsible for providing recreation services, including athletic programs or programs at the recreation center. The successful candidate will have excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups and individuals.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in recreation and leisure services, with experience in program planning, implementation, and evaluation. A bachelor's degree in recreation, leisure studies, or a related field is required, along with a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

The Recreation Supervisor I will be responsible for:

  • Planning, implementing, and evaluating recreation programs and services
  • Supervising and reviewing the work of staff responsible for providing recreation services
  • Recruiting and managing volunteers and staff
  • Coordinating with community groups and organizations to develop and implement recreation programs
  • Preparing and administering budgets and reports
  • Providing excellent customer service and communication with the public

Requirements

To be successful in this role, the candidate will need to have:

  • A bachelor's degree in recreation, leisure studies, or a related field
  • At least 2 years of experience in recreation and leisure services, with a focus on program planning, implementation, and evaluation
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse groups and individuals
