About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Pastry Specialist to join our culinary team at The St. Regis Longboat Key Resort in Sarasota, Florida.

Salary: $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience.

Job Description

As a Pastry Specialist, you will be responsible for preparing ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food. You will also wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables, weigh, measure, and mix ingredients, prepare and cook food according to recipes and quality standards, and operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers.

You will test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently and monitor food quality while preparing food. Additionally, you will set up and break down your work station, serve food in proper portions onto proper receptacles, and wash and disinfect kitchen areas, tables, tools, knives, and equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare ingredients for cooking
  • Operate various kitchen appliances and equipment
  • Monitor food quality and safety
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace
Requirements

To be successful as a Pastry Specialist, you should have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of related work experience. You should also be able to stand, sit, or walk for an extended period and lift objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
  • At least one year of related work experience
