Event and Convening Manager

Stanford University is seeking a highly skilled Event and Convening Manager to join our team. This role will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing a diverse range of events, from routine internal events and meetings to public webinars and high-profile donor meetings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Initiate and lead meetings with stakeholders to plan scope and format of events
- Develop professional customer-focused relationships with event clients
- Coordinate teams that plan, implement, and manage all aspects of events
- Oversee budget planning, monitoring, and management of events
- Build and maintain relationships with internal and external partners
- Procure and coordinate vendor services
- Review administrative procedures and ensure compliance with university policies
- Research and provide recommendations for potential event locations
- Investigate, document, and report complaints regarding all aspects of events
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience or combination of education and relevant experience
- Demonstrated success managing event teams and planning, developing budgets, and meeting budget goals
- Excellent project management skills, and the ability to manage complex timelines and multiple projects
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, time management, and customer service skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Stanford University systems and policies
- Experience planning and coordinating a wide-variety of events
- Experience with project/constituent management tools such as Cvent and Salesforce
