Role Summary

We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Scientist to join our team at USAA. As a key member of our analytics team, you'll be responsible for developing and deploying machine learning models to improve our ability to detect and prevent fraud in various areas, including credit card, debit card, check, deposit, and digital payments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and continuously update internal fraud models in the transactions and payment space, leveraging techniques ranging from statistics to complex AI/ML techniques.
  • Collaborate with Strategies and Model Management teams to understand and plan model needs.
  • Drive continuous innovation in modeling efforts.
  • Share standard methodologies and techniques with the broader analytics community.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics, computer science, statistics, economics, finance, actuarial sciences, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • 6 years of experience in predictive analytics or data analysis.
  • 4 years of experience in training and validating statistical, physical, machine learning, and other advanced analytics models.
  • 4 years of experience in one or more dynamic scripted language for performing statistical analyses and/or building and scoring AI/ML models.
