Job Title: Delivery Driver

We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Delivery Driver to join our team at Akin Building Centers in Creston, IA.

About the Role:

As a Delivery Driver, you will be responsible for loading, transporting, and delivering building materials to customers in a safe and timely manner. You will review orders before delivery to ensure accuracy and completeness, interact professionally with customers, and assist in unloading materials at job sites.

Responsibilities:

  • Load and transport building materials to customers in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Review orders before delivery to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Interact professionally with customers, providing outstanding service and assistance as needed.
  • Assist in unloading materials at job sites while maintaining efficient delivery schedules.
  • Maintain delivery vehicle in a clean and organized condition, reporting any vehicle issues promptly.
  • Follow all company policies and safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors to coordinate delivery logistics.
  • Complete necessary paperwork, such as delivery slips, vehicle inspections, and mileage logs.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as checking oil levels and refueling.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while operating company vehicles.

Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Prior experience in delivery driving or a related field is advantageous.
  • Ability to lift heavy building materials and use equipment such as forklifts when necessary.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong time management and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions and environments.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
