Purpose of Position:

The Contract Instructor Pilot is responsible for delivering ground school and simulator-based training in the TH-73 Flight Training Device. This includes briefings and debriefings for U.S. Navy and Allied Nation Pilots attending initial or instructor level helicopter training at NAS Whiting Field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct instructor-led training sessions using traditional and modern tools, such as interactive whiteboards and multimedia systems.
  • Evaluate student training performance and provide feedback through debriefings.
  • Assess and recommend improvements to mission scenarios and training programs.
  • Provide classroom instruction and recommendations for improvement, including curriculum development and testing.
  • Conduct training device operation instruction and assist with training device inspections and certification programs.

Requirements:

A Bachelor's Degree is required for this position. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to interface with students, and possess basic knowledge of personal computers and software applications.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

The physical demands of this job include working in a fast-paced environment with frequent changes in schedule and priorities. The work environment is typical of an office setting with occasional travel to training locations.
