Job Summary
Gecko Hospitality is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at a premier golf resort and private club. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional dining experiences to our members and guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Menu Development: Collaborate with the Executive Chef to create innovative and seasonal menus that showcase our culinary expertise.
- Supervision and Coordination: Oversee kitchen staff to ensure seamless daily operations and maintain high standards of quality and service.
- Training and Mentoring: Train and mentor kitchen personnel to promote teamwork, professional growth, and culinary excellence.
- Inventory Management: Assist in managing inventory, ordering supplies, and controlling food costs to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
- Food Preparation and Presentation: Ensure high culinary standards in food preparation and presentation, and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
- Compliance: Maintain compliance with all food safety and sanitation regulations to ensure a safe and healthy dining experience for our members and guests.
- Leadership: Assume responsibility for kitchen operations in the absence of the Executive Chef, and provide leadership and guidance to kitchen staff.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie in a high-end restaurant or country club setting.
- Culinary degree or equivalent culinary arts education.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire kitchen staff.
- Exceptional culinary skills, with a passion for creating memorable dishes and a commitment to culinary excellence.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations, and the ability to maintain compliance.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, and to adapt to changing circumstances.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Proficiency in using kitchen equipment and tools, and a commitment to maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a private club or similar environment.
- Knowledge of diverse culinary styles and trends, and the ability to create innovative and seasonal menus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability, with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions.
