About the Role

Atrium Health is seeking a highly skilled general surgeon to join its Division of Acute Care Surgery as a member of the AH-University City Acute Care Surgery Service in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to emergency general surgery and be interested in patient-centered, value-based delivery of care. They will also be willing to participate in clinical research and resident/fellow education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide urgent care to acutely ill and injured patients at two AH facilities, the flagship Level I trauma center Carolinas Medical Center and University City.
  • Support the growth and expansion of the AH-University City ACS program as an academic faculty member of the Department of Surgery.
  • Collaborate with a team of 18 full-time, academic faculty and 4 military faculty to advance the Division's primary mission of providing highest value care for all acutely ill and injured surgical patients within our region.

Requirements

  • Board certified in General Surgery
  • Board certification in Surgical Critical Care is encouraged though not required
  • Mature surgeon with 3-4 years post-training clinical experience preferred
  • Interest and experience in robotics platform preferred
  • Willing to participate in clinical research and resident/fellow education
