Job Summary

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring high-quality, safe, patient-centered care and coordination of all processes in the unit/department during the designated shift. This leadership position collaborates with other members of the management team to direct, monitor, and evaluate nursing care in accordance with established policies/procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high-quality patient care.
  • Participate in ongoing assessment of patient care services provided in the unit, collaborating with other members of the management team.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and key stakeholders to create an environment of teamwork that supports improved outcomes and service.
  • Support a patient-first philosophy and engage in service recovery when necessary.
  • Support the efforts of the facility to improve engagement by operationalizing current nursing strategies, including employee rounding, hourly rounds, patient rounding, and other initiatives.
  • Provide recommendations related to interviewing, selecting, and training new staff, as well as implementing courses of action to ensure an optimal organization.
  • Assist with staff scheduling and manage all practical aspects of staff labor in accordance with patient care needs and established productivity guidelines.
  • Support proper inventory control and assist with managing supplies and equipment.
