Rehabilitation Specialist

As a Registered Rehab Specialist with SCL Health, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support. Your primary responsibility will be to evaluate patients for specialty rehabilitation items, develop plans of treatment with physicians, therapists, and other staff, and revise plans to meet patient needs. You will also be responsible for offering patients product choices, assisting with ordering, assembling, adjusting, modifying, delivering, and providing ongoing support and service to meet individual rehabilitation equipment needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Participate in patient assessment processes with occupational therapists, physical therapists, physicians, and other rehab specialists
Evaluate patients for specialty rehabilitation items and develop plans of treatment with physicians, therapists, and other staff
Revise plans to meet patient needs
Offer patients product choices and assist with ordering, assembling, adjusting, modifying, delivering, and providing ongoing support and service to meet individual rehabilitation equipment needs
Assist the billing department in certifying and recertifying patients, ensuring CMN and prescriptions are completed
Provide information to the billing system to expedite third-party reimbursement and follow up on denials
Keep all items that will be stock items with assigned shelf codes and computer numbers in the MCS system
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent, required
Current ATP Certification or achievement within 90 days of hire, required
Demonstrated basic working knowledge of gross musculoskeletal anatomy, normal and abnormal neurodevelopment, neuromuscular abnormalities, disabling conditions, and disease processes, secondary complications to long-term disability, and biomechanical principles, concepts, and applications
Ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically within a multi-functional team
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to successfully function in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment
Experience in understanding and usage of computers, as well as the ability to learn applications relevant to the position
Physical Requirements:
Interact with others by effectively communicating, both orally and in writing
Operate computers and other office equipment requiring the ability to move fingers and hands
See and read computer monitors and documents
Remain sitting or standing for long periods of time to perform work on a computer, telephone, or other equipment
May require lifting and transporting objects and office supplies, bending, kneeling, and reaching
