Position Summary

The Assistant General Manager for Truck Service plays a crucial role in supporting the General Manager in overseeing the operational and marketing aspects of the Truck Service department. This position is essential in guiding a team of skilled technicians in diagnosing and repairing heavy-duty trucks and trailers, ensuring that every customer leaves in better condition than they arrived.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and motivate the team to achieve and surpass performance benchmarks while fostering a positive work environment.
  • Cultivate a culture of trust that encourages open communication and feedback from both team members and customers.
  • Manage the recruitment, training, and retention of high-caliber staff, promoting a respectful and rewarding workplace.
  • Guide technicians in effective troubleshooting and repair processes for heavy-duty vehicles.
  • Conduct thorough inspections to ensure the availability and quality of all services and products.
  • Drive financial success through strategic management of personnel, services, and operational processes.
  • Uphold safety standards and comply with operational guidelines, including vendor relationship management.

Qualifications

  • Proven leadership skills with a hands-on approach to team management.
  • Enthusiasm for career advancement within the Truck Service sector.
  • High School Diploma (or GED) is required; an Associate's or Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Previous supervisory experience in related fields such as convenience stores, truck service, or travel centers is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with the Truck Service industry is preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
