About the Position

As Executive Director of Intercollegiate Athletics, you will oversee all phases of the football program, focusing on student athlete development, academic excellence, and competitive success. This is a full-time, exempt position reporting to the University administration.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Select and develop qualified individuals to serve as assistant coaches in the program.
  • Organize and conduct a recruiting program to maintain a roster 'sweet spot', developing a visible presence in the central Ohio football community, tracking recruit and visit data, and collaborating with Admissions office.
  • Oversee all aspects of the athletic program involving student athlete development, budget, equipment, staff, student athlete academic success, OAC and NCAA rules and regulations, campus policies and procedures, and athlete image and discipline.
  • Maintain familiarity with athletic policy manual, schedule practice and competitions, ensure NCAA compliance forms are complete, submit and maintain player rosters, and confer with Athletic Communications concerning sports publicity.
  • Implement department and college policies concerning sportsmanship and school representation.
  • Collaborate with athletic trainers and team physicians for medical well-being and protection of student-athletes.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree Required.
  • Valid driver's license for travel with teams and coaches.
  • Professional-level oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledgeable about technical skills associated with coaching sports.
  • Excellent attention to detail, teamwork, customer service, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary range for this position is $80,000 - $120,000 per year. Otterbein University offers a comprehensive benefits package to full-time faculty and staff, including tuition benefit, paid vacation and sick time, holidays, medical and dental insurance, retirement plan, and more.
