Job SummaryWe are seeking a qualified After School Counselor to join our team in helping K-5th graders thrive in their educational and personal journeys. As a key member of our team, you will contribute to creating a positive and engaging atmosphere, promoting academic achievement, and fostering relationships with children and their families.
About the RoleThe After School Counselor will play a vital role in implementing daily lesson plans, supervising children and activities, and ensuring their safety. Key responsibilities will include:
- Design and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs and interests of our participants.
- Provide close supervision and support to children, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being at all times.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and any incidents that may arise.
- Collaborate with parents and guardians to ensure effective communication and a positive partnership.
- Engage with children through games, activities, and educational programs, promoting social, emotional, and cognitive growth.
- Participate in staff meetings and training to stay updated on best practices and program developments.
- Address emergencies promptly and professionally, ensuring the safety and well-being of all children.
We provide a competitive salary of $45,000 per year, commensurate with experience. Benefits include:

To be eligible for this role, you must:
- Meet state licensing guidelines for childcare professionals.
- Hold a high school diploma or equivalent, with a preference for one year of college or higher.
- Be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver's license.
- Have prior experience working with children in a developmental setting, preferably with diverse populations.
- Be bilingual (Spanish/English) or proficient in another language, a strong asset.
This role requires:
- Ability to lead and participate in activities in indoor and outdoor settings, with varying temperatures.
- Ability to walk, stand, sit, kneel, stoop, bend, crouch, see, hear, listen, and lift up to 50 pounds.
