Position Overview

The School of Social Sciences, Humanities and Arts at UC Merced seeks a lecturer to teach courses in Spanish for Summer 2024 Sessions. The instructor will be responsible for creating a syllabus, holding weekly office hours, and grading examinations and/or papers.

Responsibilities
  • Teach courses in Spanish, including Elementary Spanish I, Spanish for Heritage Speakers I, Medical Translation & Interpretation, and Mexican Women Writers
  • Create a syllabus and provide instruction on course materials
  • Hold weekly office hours (2 hours/week) to meet with students
  • Grade examinations and/or papers
Qualifications

Advanced degree in Spanish Language or Literature and experience teaching at the college or university level are required. Must be able to provide a record of excellence in teaching.
