Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Compliance Specialist to join our team at Canacre. This exciting role offers the opportunity to work on leading edge infrastructure projects, utilizing your expertise in environmental science and regulatory compliance.

As an Environmental Compliance Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring project sites comply with Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP) under the Clean Water Act, as well as erosion control regulations and applicable environmental permits.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental science or a related field, with minimum 2 years of experience in SWPPP inspection and compliance. Experience leading field work, coordinating with various field teams, and working on projects regulated under NEPA or state-equivalent is highly valued.

You will provide technical guidance to project teams regarding SWPPP and other environmental regulations, while maintaining effective communication with construction personnel, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders.

This role involves regular site inspections to identify potential environmental hazards and ensure compliance with relevant regulations. You will also document all inspection findings, communicate them to the Compliance Management Team, and develop corrective action plans to mitigate any identified issues.

In addition to your technical expertise, excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously are essential for this position.
