Job Description: Medical Office CoordinatorClerical Associate IIIs assigned to Business Office and Outpatient Registration perform various duties such as registration, cashiering, and scheduling appointments based on daily needs and available coverage.
- Conduct patient interviews to obtain identifying information, demographic, biographic, and insurance status, which are accurately entered into EPIC.
- Obtain signatures on registration forms, including TPO, Bill of Rights, HIPPA Notice of Privacy, Health Care Proxy, and General Consents.
- Enroll patients into Imprivata Palm scanner system and Mychart.
- Scan insurance cards, Photo ID, and other supporting documentation in EPIC.
- Assist patients in making or rescheduling appointments in EPIC.
- Generate Medical Record Numbers for new patients.
- Perform systems checks to verify insurance coverage, including ePaces for Medicaid.
- Assess patients' eligibility for Medicaid or HHC options, complete HHC options assessment in EPIC.
- Revise patient information in Unity based on documentation provided by patients.
- Provide guidance to patients regarding Hospital Policy, such as document requirements for Insurance Screening and/or Financial Assistance.
- Accept patient payments in cash, money orders, debit, and credit cards.
- Issue payment receipts via EPIC payment function.
- Reconcile all payments received against receipts issued and prepare daily proof of cash reconciliation report.
- Submit daily reconciled cash payments, receipts, and reports to department designee for review.
- Follow proof of cash reconciliation policy and all other cashier procedures and functions.
- Provide coverage in other clinical areas as needed.
- Perform all other duties assigned by Supervisor and/or designee.
To be considered for this position, you must have:
- A high school diploma or its equivalent.
- Six (6) months of full-time satisfactory clerical experience and/or experience interacting with the public, such as processing sales; taking, processing, and delivering orders; obtaining and dispensing information; listening to and resolving customers' concerns, problems, and complaints; and/or performing related customer service activities.
