About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our team at Bronson Pulmonary Specialists. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support our healthcare providers in delivering exceptional patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Perform various clinical and administrative tasks to support patient care, including vital sign collection, medication reconciliation, and routine testing.
- Prepare patients for examinations, including patient assessment, histories, and vital signs.
- Document patient information accurately and efficiently in patient charts.
- Administer treatments as requested by healthcare providers.
- Obtain specimens for urine testing, phlebotomy, and other laboratory tests.
- Schedule outside tests or procedures for patients in other departments or facilities.
- Coordinate admissions, referrals, and prescriptions.
- Stock exam rooms with supplies and conduct daily inventory of supplies.
- Assist with scheduling appointments in the EMR system.
- Screen calls and determine urgency, necessity, or phone advice.
- Assist with completion of miscellaneous patient forms.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Successful completion of an accredited medical assistant program.
- CMA/CCMA/RMA certification.
- Meet eligibility requirements to take CMA/RMA and obtain certification within 6 months of hire.
- BLS certification required within 90 days of hire/transfer.
Work Environment
This is a part-time position with variable shifts and a scheduled 20 hours per week. The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
