Maintenance and Repair Specialist

The AC by Marriott Hotel at the Vancouver waterfront offers an exciting opportunity for a skilled Maintenance and Repair Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance crew, you will play a critical role in ensuring the hotel's rooms and suites are well-maintained and functional.
About the RoleThis position involves troubleshooting and repairing basic maintenance, electrical, technical, HVAC, and plumbing needs in rooms/suites. You will also conduct preventative maintenance on all guest room/suite furniture, fixtures, and equipment, inspecting plumbing regularly and taking care of the hotel's lighting needs.
Responsibilities- Troubleshoots and repairs issues with guest rooms and suites, including electrical, technical, HVAC, and plumbing systems
- Conducts routine maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance
- Ensures all appliances and equipment are functioning correctly and makes any necessary repairs
- Inspects and maintains plumbing systems to prevent leaks and other issues
- Maintains the hotel's lighting system and ensures it is working properly
- High School diploma or GED; or one to two years of related experience and/or training
- Knowledge of basic repair and maintenance skills, including carpentry, grouting, painting, caulking, and blueprint reading
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Basic math skills
