Job Title: Shelter Monitor

The Salvation Army USA Central Territory is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Shelter Monitor to maintain the security and overall well-being of our shelter residents. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of our guests, enforcing shelter policies, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct regular security checks to ensure the safety of residents and staff.
  2. Enforce shelter policies and procedures to maintain a positive and respectful environment.
  3. Provide excellent customer service to residents, answering questions and addressing concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
  4. Assist with intake processing, including pre-screening and admitting new residents.
  5. Maintain accurate records of incidents, attendance, and client data.
  6. Collaborate with staff to ensure seamless operations and effective communication.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; combination of education and experience considered.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse personalities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with minimal supervision.
