Position Overview
As a Clinical Education Specialist, you will be responsible for assessing the educational needs of our target population to establish key learning priorities. You will plan, design, and implement comprehensive course curricula based on evidence-based nursing practices.

Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate the effectiveness of curriculum and course offerings to ensure quality education.
- Promote safe patient care through the development and support of clinical staff.
- Act as a clinical resource for nursing staff, leadership, and medical personnel.
- Engage staff in ongoing performance improvement and educational initiatives.
- Maintain essential educational records to demonstrate compliance with regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with Department Managers and Directors to enhance staff retention and competence.
- Assist in the remediation of staff performance and document actions and progress as necessary.
- Serve as a professional role model within the nursing community.
- Mentor peers and staff in their professional development.

Minimum Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) is required.
- A Master's degree in Nursing, Education, or Health Administration is preferred.

Minimum Work Experience
- A minimum of 3-5 years of diverse clinical practice in an acute care setting is required.
- Previous experience in staff development or education is preferred.

Required Skills and Certifications
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
- AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is required.
- AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification is required.
- AHA Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification is preferred.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina is mandatory.
- National certification in nursing professional development and clinical specialty is preferred.
- Current instructor status for BLS, ACLS, and PALS is preferred.
