Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Radiation Therapy Technologist to join our team at MedStar Washington Hospital Center. As a Radiation Therapy Technologist, you will play a critical role in administering radiation therapy treatments, performing simulation procedures, and assisting in the planning of radiation therapy treatments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer radiation therapy treatments according to safety guidelines and protocols.
  • Perform simulation procedures to ensure accurate treatment delivery.
  • Assist in the planning of radiation therapy treatments, including dose verification and SSD verification.
  • Operate the CT simulator and necessary equipment, including the linear accelerator.
  • Document all aspects of patient treatment in medical records, including symptoms, problems, and patient education.
  • Participate in quality assurance procedures, including weekly chart review and dose verification.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Therapist and Technical Director to implement new policies and procedures and attain departmental and organizational goals.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited school of Radiation Therapy Technology.
  • Maryland Board of Physicians License 'O' as a Radiation Therapist, or ASRT - Radiation Therapist 'M' Licensed as a Radiation Therapist and Radiographer.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT Certification).
  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider certification with AED.
  • Must maintain Maryland CE Continuing Educational Requirements (24 CE Credits/2 years).
