Job Summary:

MELE Associates, Inc. is seeking a highly experienced Subject Matter Expert II to support the Department of Energy (DOE) State and Community Energy Programs (SCEP). The successful candidate will provide expert consulting, analysis, and support to the Government client(s) on critical complex issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide facilitation and expert consulting services to the Government client(s) on critical complex issues.
  • Work independently and effectively under pressure and in the conduct of demanding assignments.
  • Express ideas well both orally and in writing.
  • Possess extensive expertise in one or more of the following areas: Affordable housing expertise; Building Energy Engineering; Data collection, mining, analysis and management; Energy Efficiency Tools and Testing; Energy Efficiency Training; Facilitation; Financing expertise; Outreach, Education and Communications; Partner Recruitment and Account Management; Partnership Development and Management; Policy and Market Research and Analysis; Program Planning, Design and Implementation; Program/Project Management; Quality Assurance; Research; Stakeholder Engagement; Strategic Planning; Technical Assistance; and Utility Efficiency Programs and Integration.

Requirements:

  • PhD in an appropriate discipline is required.
  • A Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline and six (6) years of relevant experience, or Master's degree in an appropriate discipline and four (4) years of additional relevant experience may substitute a PhD in the appropriate discipline to fulfill the minimum education requirement.
  • Fifteen (15) years of relevant experience performing work applicable to the functions and responsibilities described in the position description are required.
  • The ability to obtain/maintain a DOE L or Q clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current and active DOE Q Clearance.

Work Environment:

This is a full-time position in Washington, DC 20585, USA. Telework options are available with a requirement to be in the office at least three days a week, based on the level of in-person meetings and office needs.
