Quality and Safety Leadership in Radiology

The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus seeks a Vice Chair of Quality and Safety to lead the quality and safety mission of the Department of Radiology. This individual will oversee the work of radiology quality and safety staff, trainees, faculty, and division representatives involved in quality and safety initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Department Chair and other leaders to establish quality and safety priorities.
  • Link quality and safety priorities with the Department's strategic vision.
  • Continually define and refine the quality and safety missions of the Department of Radiology.
  • Execute the Department's response to relevant quality incentive programs.
  • Co-Chair the Department's Collaborative Case Review conference and Quality Committee.
  • Assist with coordinating, monitoring, and improving quality, safety, efficiencies, and services in the Department of Radiology.
  • Plan and implement quality improvement programs to address areas of quality opportunity.
  • Interface with patients, respond to their concerns, and identify areas of improvement.
  • Serve as a physician mentor for Department of Radiology faculty and trainees.
  • Engage in quality and safety scholarship.
  • Deliver meaningful and actionable performance data to meet the needs of radiologists and programs.
  • Represent the department at Patient Safety Risk Management and other department meetings as needed.
  • Have oversight for all primary quality and safety programs in the Department of Radiology.

Requirements:

  • Minimum qualifications include a Medical Degree or equivalent, Colorado Medical License, ABR certified, and Fellowship Training.
  • Preferred qualifications include an innovative approach to medical education, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a commitment to quality and safety.
