Description:

PRIMARY PURPOSE AND MISSION STATEMENT:

  • Greet customers with a friendly smile.
  • Provide quick, accurate, and courteous service.
  • Supply a variety of products that meet high quantity, quality, and freshness standards.
  • Thank customers for making us their hometown store.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Primarily responsible for assisting the store manager with day-to-day store operations. Assist with sales, store appearance, customer service, inventory, and management of employees, within established guidelines. Lead and direct store employees and supervise their performance, especially in the absence of the store manager. Take initiative to improve customer service, drive store sales, and meet or exceed store goals/profitability. Maintain store appearance and product presentation to company standards. Emphasize team efforts. Help model and set the tone for interaction with customers and employees. Understand how that influences the public perception of Raymer Oil Company.

Requirements:

  • High school graduation or equivalent, preferred.
  • Knowledge of retail management and people management, a plus.
  • Some knowledge of store operations, required - merchandising, inventory control, cash control.

Experience:

  • One year experience in retail management, C-store clerk, or store operations position.
  • Experience and knowledge in the areas of management, financial reporting, customer service, inventory management, and other related operational areas.
  • Demonstrated effective track record as store clerk.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Good verbal and written communication skills. Good people and customer interaction skills.
  • Skills in areas of leadership, teaching, and motivating employees.
  • Demonstrated attentiveness to details; mathematical analytical ability. Use of calculator.
  • Good computer skills, e.g. point of sale system.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively solve problems - operational, customer, and employee.
  • Ability to work independently in a high pressure and demanding environment.
  • Ability to multi-task, i.e., pick-up where left off when interrupted.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Standing / walking - high level
  • Environment - convenience store
  • Sitting - low level
  • Travel - some local travel required for running business
  • Lifting - up to 25 lbs. errands
  • Visual concentration - high level
