Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior HVAC Design Automation Specialist to join our team at AAON in Memphis, TN. As a key member of our design engineering group, you will be responsible for developing and creating models and assemblies using CAD software, including conceptual designs and parametric modeling.

About the Role:
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical design, with experience in Autodesk Inventor API programming and CAD automation development processes. You will work closely with our design software products team to report issues, input on new features, and stay aware of developments that will impact our team. Additionally, you will collaborate with other designers and engineers to ensure that structural, mechanical, and electrical designs integrate seamlessly with other systems.

Responsibilities:
Develop advanced models and drawings, including conceptual designs, parametric modeling, and new technologies using computer design software (CAD).
Develop design automation utilizing various dynamic parameters (iLogic).
Collaborate with the design software products team to report issues, input on new features, and stay aware of developments that will impact the team.
Collaborate with other designers and engineers to ensure that structural, mechanical, and electrical designs integrate seamlessly with other systems.
Collaborate with Engineers, management, and other creative departments to determine design solutions.
Provide support to production team to facilitate seamless releases and is trusted as a point person or go-to for manufacturing issues.
Seek ways to implement new ideas and technologies.
Collaborate with the Product Design Engineering team to develop designs.
Provide complete bills of material for all designs.
Support DFMEAs, PFMEAs, CFD, FEA, and Seismic evaluations and testing.
Understand safety standards, including but not limited to UL, CE, NEC, IBC, and NFPAMaintain and build professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, or participating in professional societies.

Requirements:
A two-year technical degree is preferred, and 8 years' experience in the HVAC industry or equivalent experience in a similar industry.
Demonstrable experience with Autodesk Inventor API programming.
Excels with the CAD Automation development processes.
Excels in mechanical and structural analysis of assemblies.
Demonstrates excellent mechanical, structural, and design aptitude.
Communicates effectively in written and spoken form.
Demonstrates excellent interpersonal relationship skills.
Exhibits good decision-making and analytical problem-solving abilities.
Demonstrates strong multi-tasking capabilities and organizational skills.

Work Environment:
Occasional exposure to manufacturing facilities with seasonal hot and cold temperatures, dust, and some chemical fume exposure. Ability to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods of time. Work is performed in a climate-controlled office setting. Occasional travel as required.

Salary: $41.74 - $27.82 Hourly
