Medical Surgical Nursing Manager

Job SummaryThe Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) ensures and delivers high-quality patient-centered care and coordination of all functions in the unit/department during the designated shift. The CNC directs, monitors, and evaluates nursing care in accordance with established policies/procedures, serves as a resource person for staff, and models a commitment to the organization's vision/mission/values.
Responsibilities- Assists with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high-quality patient-centered care.
- Responsible for assisting the director by managing Acute Surgical and Medical Oncology, and Flex Staff daily operations, including staffing, supply ordering/inventory, daily rounds, and documentation requirements.
- Collaborates with subject matter experts and other managers to create an environment of teamwork that supports improved outcomes and service.
- Supports a patient-first philosophy and engages in service recovery when necessary.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing with Associates Degree required/BSN preferred.
- Current licensure by the Indiana State Board of Nursing as a Registered Professional Nurse or a current Compact State RN license required.
- At least 3 years of acute care nursing experience required/2 years of leadership experience in related field preferred.
- Computer literacy & familiarity with nearly all Microsoft Office products.
- Proficient oral and written skills.
