Acute Care Medical Nurse

Del Sol Medical Center, a leading healthcare provider in El Paso and the surrounding region, is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join its Acute Care team. With over 300 patient beds and a Level II trauma designation, our hospital offers a wide range of services, including emergency care, cardiac care, women's services, Level III NICU, rehabilitation, and minimally invasive surgery.

Job DescriptionThe ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical-surgical nursing, with experience in acute care settings. A current RN license in the state of Texas or Compact state is required, along with Basic Cardiac Life Support certification. We prefer candidates with a Bachelors degree in Nursing Science, but Associates degree or Diploma in Nursing will also be considered. Additional certifications, such as Medical Surgical ANCC Certification, are highly valued.
Responsibilities- Assess patient condition during admission and each scheduled shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
- Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by medical providers, ensuring thorough and timely documentation of care administration.
- Administer prescribed medications, monitor patients for therapeutic response, and take appropriate action in case of unintended side effects.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures.
