Job Summary:
The Pharmacy Technician will assist pharmacists in the preparation and distribution of medications to patients. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare unit-dose medications and deliver them to patients
- Read and interpret physician orders and prescriptions
- Assist pharmacists with medication preparation and dispensing
- Communicate with patients and caregivers to determine medication needs
- Accurately prepare and deliver controlled substances
- Take inventory and analyze medication supplies
- Perform arithmetic calculations for medication preparation
- Work efficiently and accurately in a team environment
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- National certification as a Pharmacy Technician (PTCB or EXCPT)
- Registration with the state Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician trainee
- Experience in a pharmacy setting preferred
Working Environment:
The Pharmacy Technician will work in a fast-paced environment with a team of pharmacists and technicians. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
